Our poultry show is a family-oriented event for poultry fanciers of all ages. Plan on coming early for the continental breakfast and staying through the afternoon. There are articles on this web site that will tell you what you need to know to prepare for the show and even get started in poultry if you're a new comer.

Showmanship competition for youth (9-18).
1st place in Junior and Senior are awarded hand-made pottery bowls.

Quiz Bowl at 1pm for all youth exhibitors. Prizes Awarded.
Sign up for showmanship and quiz bowl with the youth coordinator on Sunday Morning or indicate your intentions on your entry form.

Health Requirements - In State
Poultry originating within the state must come from healthy flocks with no evidence of infectious, contagious and or communicable diseases. All birds must be inspected, identified and be accompanied by written proof that verifies that the breeding flock or the individual bird listed on the report were blood-tested negative for Salmonella pullorum within 365 days of the show date. Concurrent Avian Influenza testing of the flock and or individual bird is strongly recommended. Poultry vaccinated within 30 days with a live virus vaccine will be prohibited from showing. Doves, pigeons and waterfowl are exempt from testing requirements, but must be identified by leg or wing tags.
Health Requirements - Out of State
All poultry must be identified and test negative for Salmonella pullorum within 12 months of the show date and be accompanied by this certificate. All poultry must comply with the department of agriculture Avian Influenza requirements by originating from AI-free flocks or be tested for AI within 30 days of entry and have a certificate. No poultry from ANY AREAS OF ANY STATE HAVING Avian Influenza may enter the state. Poultry vaccinated within 30 days with any live virus vaccine will be prohibited from showing. Doves, pigeons and waterfowl are exempt from testing requirements but must be identified by leg or wing bands
Directions
From the north, south, or east; Take route 95 to exit 69 onto route 9 north to exit 7.
From the west, take route 84 to route 9 south, take exit 7. Exit 7 is a long ramp to route 154, take a right.
The fairgrounds are 2.6 miles on the right.
Rules & Regulations
1. Entries must be postmarked no later than May 10th.
2. Entry fee must accompany entry.
3. Entry fee is $3.00 for open and $2.00 juniors.
4. Any bird showing signs of sickness or disease will be removed from the show.
5. Early coop-out is prohibited. Anyone cooping-out before the awards are presented will forfeit all prizes and may be subject to refusal of future entry.
6. Club is not responsible for loss, accident, or other damage to you, your entries, or your property.
7. Cock, hen, cockerel, and pullet will be shown.
8. The poultry barn will open at 7am on Sunday to receive entries.
All entries must be cooped by 9am.. Saturday coop in is available by request, please call Cheryl Barnaba at (203) 481-3420.
9. Turkey and goose entries must provide their own cage and water container.
10. Initial shavings will be in cages. Bring your own if you feel you need more.
11. All birds must have permanent identification.
